And all the pipe cleaner animals stood erect-- a fierce wall of nylon and wire defiance--
with one voice they exclaimed, "We shall not be silenced!"

I Have the Best Husband in the World

A few weeks ago, I was tasked with creating favors for my best friend's bridal shower, and since the theme of the shower was Hello Kitty, I decided to make some cute beaded Hello Kitty bracelets. They're made of glass beads and Swarovski crystals, with a little Hello Kitty charm. I bought the charms on Etsy. Here's mine.. isn't it cute?
However, I only had two evenings to put together TWENTY of these babies and I had no idea how I was going to crimp, tread, and bead all twenty in time for the shower. Luckily for me, I have the best husband in the world!! Now let me preempt this by saying that my husband is definitely NOT INTO CRAFTS. He thinks it's cool that I like them, but his idea of fun is sitting on the couch watching sports all day with a few beers. This same guy offered to help me bead the bracelets, so all I had to do was start them off, and he beaded more than half of the bracelets!! So sweet!!

Here's my cute husband in action.

I think it's so cute how he laid out all the beads before stringing them. I should have gotten him a beading board. =)

He was a real trooper and we finished all of them in one night (even if it took us until 1am)!! He even admitted that he had fun doing it!! What a great guy!!

Oh Fuzzington! That is just about the sweetest thing I've ever seen! What a great guy you've got there!

Those kitty bracelets are very cute!

My husband (another beer and football fan) dipped a toe into being crafty when I broke down in tears 1 hour before an Egyptian themed club party I was asked to make a cake for. The cake was done, but I drew a total blank on decorating it. My husband calmed me down and made a cardboard pyramid, helped me frost the cake and even came up with an idea to crush graham crackers all over it to look like sand! :D A plastic palm tree and camel and voila!! It looked great!

This is why we love our guys! They never let us down!

Awww.. that's soo sweet! :) And I LOVE the way he laid out all the beads in such nice rows with such patience! HO-DUK-YEE AH!! hehe..

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to make our own wedding invitations (over a hundred of them)..it took us months of cutting and gluing paper together. Plus making 600 little pillow favours. I'm just glad I didn't scare him away before we even got married. Too bad we didn't know about ETSY at the time!

It's really cute when guys help out..love watching them making dinky little things with their big fingers.
